The eligibility requirements for all companies are rather simple:
- Company must pay into CA Unemployment Fund (any business located in CA pays this tax)
- Company must have turnover 20% or less (exceptions possible with justifications)
- Company must be in manufacturing or face out-of-state competition (Concentration industries – advanced manufacturing, aerospace, biotech, medical, nanotechnologies and green)
- Trainees must work full-time (35 hours/week)
- Each trainee must take at least 24 hours of training but no more than 200 hours (the 200-hour cap does not apply to New Hire)
- Employees must reside in CA
